The Glynn County Sheriff's Office
provides court security for the Superior, State, Magistrate and Juvenile Courts
of Glynn in addition to providing overall security of the Courthouse. Additionally,
the Sheriff's Office serves civil processes and criminal warrants and transports
mental health patients. The Sheriff's Office also operates the Glynn County
Detention Center which houses a maximum capacity of 344 inmates.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Glynn County Sheriff's Office will serve its citizens
by efficiently executing all of the duties and responsibilities constitutionally
mandated and/or authorized by the laws of the United States of America, the
State of Georgia and the County of Glynn. Services provided will include maintaining
order and safety in the Courts, execution of criminal warrants and civil processes
and management of the Detention Center.
Goals and Objectives:
Goal 1:
Safely serve all criminal warrants sent to the Sheriff's Office by the Courts
as well as by other agencies both in and out of state.
- Objective 1: Have individual deputies prioritize
order of service according to defendant's threat to the community.
- Objective 2: Utilize strategic planning and adequate
numbers of employees to serve high risk warrants.
Goal 2:
Continue serving all criminal processes at a nearly 100% success rate.
- Objective 1: Ensure civil papers are promptly assigned
to a deputy and entered in the computer system.
- Objective 2: Ensure deputies assigned to serve civil
processes are given adequate time to complete the job.
Goal 3:
Maintain a safe Courthouse for the judges, judicial employees and the public.
- Objective 1: Ensure deputies working the front entrance
security desk are properly trained on using the security devices and tools
at the Courthouse.
- Objective 2: Schedule an adequate number of trained
deputies to oversee all courts in session.
Goal 4:
House prisoners in the Glynn County Detention Center in a safe and constitutional
manner.
- Objective 1: Enforce established policies and procedures.
- Objective 2: Ensure facility is properly staffed
and scheduled.
